About Glycemic Load Calculator

Glycemic Load Calculator has been online since 2012, built with a single goal: to make Glycemic Load — a more practical measure than Glycemic Index alone — easy for anyone to calculate, without needing a nutrition degree or a spreadsheet.

Our Approach

We rely on the standard, peer-reviewed Glycemic Load formula (GI × Net Carbs ÷ 100) and the widely used Low / Medium / High classification thresholds used throughout nutrition research. We don't invent our own numbers or shortcuts — the goal is an accurate, transparent result every time.

Our Food Database

Our database draws on published Glycemic Index research and standard nutrition data to cover thousands of common foods, from whole ingredients to packaged products, so you can search instead of manually looking up GI values elsewhere.
